Understanding the Concepts of Core Engagement

A powerful pitch begins with the lower body, not the throwing arm.

When the lower body drives through the core and into the throwing hand, the body functions as a single connected motion, producing better command, velocity, and consistency.

Balance is critical.

Your feet establish the foundation for every movement that follows.

Proper foot position influences the front knee, overall balance, and your ability to transfer energy efficiently.

Keeping the front knee in front of the front hip allows the core to engage naturally and keeps the body moving toward the target.

Weight distribution is equally important.

As you stride, your weight moves progressively from the lower body through the core, creating the stability and momentum needed for efficient rotation.

Rather than forcing the throw with the arm, the body transfers energy from the ground to the baseball.

A strong, stable core connects the lower body to the throwing arm, controls posture, limits unnecessary rotation, and allows energy to flow efficiently through the kinetic chain.

The result is greater power, improved accuracy, better balance, and less stress on the throwing arm.

Pitch Smart.

When your glove hand initiates the sequence, your lower body drives the motion, your core transfers the energy, and your throwing arm simply delivers the baseball.
