Motion

Front Knee, Glove Work, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

During your Front Leg Lift, you want your Front Knee to stay in front of your Front Hip.

Any variation and your destructive Front Knee position hurt your Glove Work and command.

Your Goal

Your Glove Work gets your Lower Body to fire your pitches, your Lower Body drives your Throwing Arm, and your Throwing Arm automatically sends the ball into your target.

Your Glove Work

When your Front Knee position is behind your Front Hip, your Glove Work suffers.

Your Throwing Arm controls your Glove Work and never gets your Glove Work to ever fire your Throwing Arm.

On the other hand, when your Front Knee finishes ahead of your Front Hip, your Glove Work fires your Lower Body, and your Lower Body drives the ball into your target with uncanny regularity.

Your Command

Your Front Knee staying in front of your Front Hip keeps your Body in balance.

Your Balance allows you to direct your Glove Work to fire your Hips.

From the point where your motion is in balance, your whole action is automatic.

The ball goes to your target without you thinking about your motion.

Better Positioning

Your Front Knee staying in front of your Front Hip prompts uncanny command.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches your Front Knee to stay in front of your Front Hip, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Shoulders, Glove Work, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Level Shoulders promote great Glove Work and, as an outcome, exceptional command.

Definitions

Glove Work – The path your Glove Hand takes to get your Throwing Hand to send your ball on target.

Shoulders Level – At the top of your Front Leg Lift, your Shoulders are horizontal.

Target Area – Take your worst pitch and draw an imaginary circle around your target.

Not Level

Your Shoulders being out of level cause your Body to adjust to their elevation.

The biggest change comes in your Throwing Arm.

Your Throwing Arm controls your location, and your Throwing Hand places the ball somewhere in your target area.

At separation, any sort of Shoulder tilt forces your Throwing Arm to adjust your balance.

Your ball rarely goes into your target.

In fact, you only hit your target 1 out of 10 times.

Level Shoulders

When your Front Leg Lift shows level Shoulders, your Throwing Hand responds to your Glove Work.

Your Glove Hand comes right to the target and your Throwing Hand answers with a good path to the target.

You hit your target with uncanny regularity.

Better Positioning

For your Glove Work to control your command, you need your Shoulders to be level.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to come out of your Front Leg Lift with your Shoulders level, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Foot Position, Glove Work, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet. My name is Coach Skip and I’m about to teach good Foot Position, exceptional Glove Work, and pinpoint command.

Preliminaries

Your motion depends on your Foot Positioning.

The correct Foot Positioning promotes great Glove Work and exceptional command.

However, when your Foot Positioning is off, your Body moves out of balance, your Glove Work is reactionary, and your command suffers.

Your Foot Position

Your good Front and Back Heels produce balance.

With your Heels too far apart, your motion loses its balance, and your Glove Work becomes nonexistent.

However, your Heels in line with your target and one baseball width apart keep your motion in balance, your Glove Hand promotes your motion, and your command produces with uncanny regularity.

Your Glove Work

Your Glove Work takes your Body out of balance.

Most important is that your Glove Work causes your Lower Body to open and land your stride.

Your Lower Body drives your Throwing Action, and your Throwing Action takes the ball directly to your target.

Need Your Foot Positioning?

If you want your Body to be in balance and drive your pitch, the Pro Pitching Institute is here for you.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to begin your motion with your Feet one baseball width apart on every pitch, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Throwing Hand Control, Balance, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

My name is Coach Skip and I’m about to teach you Throwing Hand movement, balance, and command.

Preliminaries

Your Starting Position impacts your Throwing Hand.

The correct Throwing Hand movement promotes balance and command.

However, when your Throwing Hand merely reacts to your Starting Position, your Body moves out of balance, and your command suffers.

Poor Throwing Hand Movement

When your Front Leg is behind your Front Hip, your weight is over your Back Foot, and your Front Leg is forced to move first.

Your Front Leg takes you out of your Starting Position, and your Hands keep your Body in balance.

Your Hands keeping your Body in balance has your Throwing Hand acting on its own.

Each different pitch you throw will have a slightly different release point and arm speed.

Good Throwing Hand Control

However, when your Front Leg is even with your Front Hip, your weight is center right in front of your Back Foot, and things change dramatically.

Your Glove Hand takes your motion out of balance and fires the ball to your target with uncanny regularity.

No matter the grip, your Throwing Hand keeps the batter guessing about the pitch by showing the Hitter a constant fastball speed!

Accomplishing This?

Want your Body to produce a good Throwing Hand movement?

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to manage your Throwing Hand movement, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Lower Body Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

My name is Coach Skip and I’m about to teach you “Stride and Throw”.

Throwing Arm Command

When your Throwing Hand keeps your Body in balance, your Throwing Action involves your Throwing Arm.

You “Stride THEN Throw’ and your ball goes into your target by chance.

Entire Body Command

However, when your Body is in balance, your Lower Body produces your command.

You “Stride AND Throw”, your motion becomes one, and your ball goes to your target with uncanny regularity.

Accomplishing This?

Want your Body to produce your command?

Shoulder Alignment

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

My name is Coach Skip and I’m about to teach you Shoulder alignment.

What Not to Do?

Your Shoulders stay in line with your Hips.

The instant your Front Knee moves behind your Front Hip your Shoulders fly out of line and make it more difficult for you to hit your spots.

What to Do!

Instead, you want your Front Knee to stay ahead of your Front Hip.

Your Shoulders stay in line and your Lower Body locates your pitches with uncanny regularity.

Accomplishing This?

Want to end your Starting Position with your Shoulders in line with your target?

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to manage your Shoulders, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Throwing Action

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

My name is Coach Skip and I’m about to teach you a “balanced” Throwing Action.

Starting Position

Your Starting Position determines your Throwing Action.

Bad Arms

Your Throwing Arm going behind your Body offsets your Starting Position and you see fewer pitches going into your target.

Good Arms

Your Throwing Arm ending up in front of your Body gives you a balanced Throwing Action.

Your Throwing Arm reacts to your Glove Arm and more pitches end up in your target.

How To Accomplish This?

Want to end your motion with your Throwing Arm in front of your Body?

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to manage your Throwing Action, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Foot Strike

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

My name is Coach Skip, and you’re going to learn about a “balanced” Stride.

An Out-of-Balance Foot Strike

At the end of your Stride, your Throwing Arm reacts to your Body’s position.

When your Foot Strike position is out of balance, your release is spotty at best.

Balanced Foot Strikes

Land your Stride with your Foot Strike in balance and your Throwing Action reacts a lot differently.

Your ball ends up in the target with uncanny regularity.

How To Accomplish This?

Want to end your Stride in balance?

During your Front Leg Lift, your Front Knee going behind your Front Hip prevents your Lower Body from commanding your pitch.

You never know where your ball ends up.

The front Knee You Want

However, your Front Knee staying in front of your Front Hip allows your Lower Body to command your pitch.

Your ball goes into your target with uncanny regularity.

Initial Footwork

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

My name is Coach Skip, and you’re going to learn about a “balanced” starting position.

Poor Footwork

When your Front Foot positions itself TO THE HOME PLATE SIDE your Front Knee, your Throwing Arm gets involved with your balance.

You lose your Lower Body, and you lose your command.

The Footwork You Want

However, when your Front Foot begins TO THE SECOND BASE SIDE your Front Knee, your Glove Arm naturally activates your Lower Body, and your ball goes into your target with uncanny regularity.

How To Accomplish This?
