“Legitimate” Foot Strikes

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Preliminaries

Gravity controls your Throwing Action.

Either your weight causes you to “Stride, then Throw” or you “Stride and Throw”.

Foot Strike, Then Throw

You end your Starting Position with your Front Hip behind your Back Leg.

Your Body fighting with gravity causes you to lose control of your entire motion.

Your Front Leg brings your weight forward and you land your Foot Strike.

You find your balance, get ready to throw your pitch, and deliver your ball.

Your weight initiating your Throwing Action gets the ball to a larger-than-expected target area.

Foot Strike, And Throw

You end your Starting Position with your weight balanced just in front of your Back Foot.

From this balanced position, your Glove Hand initiates your Stride.

Your Glove Hand comes forward, your weight shifts and your Lower Body initiates your Throwing Arm.

Gravity causes your Glove Hand Palm to go up, and you deliver the ball to your target.

Your Throwing Arm follows your Glove Hand, and you find your target with uncanny regularity.

Get a “Legitimate” Foot Strike

To find your target with uncanny regularity, you want your Glove Arm to prompt your Lower Body, and your Lower Body to start your Throwing Action.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to begin with your weight in front of your Back Foot, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

“Legitimate” Shoulders

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

“False” Shoulders

Your Shoulders being out of line with your target makes it much more difficult to hit your target.

You’re wasting your time with your Glove Hand position prompting your Shoulders to aim away from your target.

With your Glove Hand encouraging your entire Body to direct your ball away from your target, your Front Leg lift positions your Front Knee behind your Front Hip.

With your Front Knee behind your Front Hip, your Lower Body fails to get involved.

You miss your target and, without an incentive for your Throwing Hand to hit your target, this will continue.

“Legitimate” Shoulders

A way to find your target is to get your Shoulders to be in line with your target and fire your Glove Arm.

Your Glove Arm moving toward your target animates your Lower Body.

With your Lower Body involved, your Front Leg lift reacts to your Shoulder position, your Lower Body fires, and the ball goes to your target.

You find the ball going into your target with great regularity.

Get “Legitimate” Shoulders

To find your target with uncanny regularity, you want your Glove Arm to prompt your Lower Body, and your Lower Body to point toward your target.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to begin your motion with your Shoulders in the right position, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

“Legitimate Internal Rotation” and Your Glove Hand

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Preliminaries

Your Body is always in balance.

You either don’t realize your Body maintains your balance or your produce balance.

In “Legitimate Internal Rotation”, you produce balance. In “False Internal Rotation”, you forget about your balance.

“Legitimate Internal Rotation”

When you produce balance, your Front Leg lift mirrors a balanced position.

From this position, your Glove Hand moves first, and the rest of your Body follows your Glove Hand movement.

Your Glove Hand movement takes you into your Stride, and, as a natural balanced reaction, you fire your Hips.

Your Hip movement pulls your Throwing Hand forward and your pitch goes to your target with uncanny regularity.

“False Internal Rotation”

From your Front Leg lift to your Stride, your natural response becomes your Throwing Hand going behind your Body.

To keep your Body in balance, your Throwing Hand essentially offsets your Stride.

The weight from your Stride causes your Front Foot to hit the ground, your Throwing Arm delivers the ball, and your Hips follow.

Your Throwing Arm working by itself expands your target area.

Get “Legitimate Internal Rotation”?

You want your Body to be in balance, drive your pitch, and command the ball to hit your target.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to begin your motion with your Body in balance, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

FOOT DISTANCE AND COMMAND*

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Preliminaries

Your motion depends on your where your Feet touch the ground.

The correct Foot Positioning promotes great Glove Work and exceptional command.

However, when your Foot Positioning is off, your Body moves out of balance, your Glove Work is reactionary, and your command suffers.

Your Foot Position

Your good Front and Back Heels produce balance.

With your Heels too far apart, your motion loses its balance, your Glove Work becomes nonexistent, and your command suffers.

However, your Heels in line with your target and one baseball width apart keep your motion in balance, your Glove Hand promotes your motion, and your command produces with uncanny regularity.

Your Glove Work

Your Glove Work takes your Body out of balance.

Most important is that your Glove Work causes your Lower Body to open. land your stride, and pull your Throwing Arm into release.

Your Lower Body drives your Throwing Action, and your Throwing Action takes the ball directly to your target.

Need Your Foot Positioning?

If you want your Body to be in balance. drive your pitch, and your command to hit your target, the Pro Pitching Institute is here for you.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you to begin your motion with your Feet one baseball width apart on every pitch, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Your Glove Hand and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Your Glove Hand Palm

Your Glove Hand Palm flipping up powers your Throwing Action.

It’s the timing of your Glove Hand Palm that determines the size of your target area.

Your Glove Hand makes your target area the size of your Glove all the way to nonexistent.

No Glove Hand

When you begin your motion with your Front Foot behind your Front Hip or your Front Foot wider than your Shoulders, your Glove Hand Palm reacts to your motion.

Your Glove Hand is used for balance, goes the way your Body determines, and essentially moves where needed.

Your Throwing Hand delivers the ball into a target area that’s larger than a controlled Glove Hand Palm naturally produces.

An Ideal Glove Hand

Ideally, you want your Body to be in balance.

Being in a balanced state means your Front Foot is even with your Back Toes and your Front Toe point toward your target.

Your Glove Hand naturally turns over, you Stride, and your Throwing Hand delivers the ball to your target.

Your ball goes directly to your target.

Better Command

Your Glove Hand Palm regularly places the ball in your target with uncanny regularity.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you a Glove Arm movement to promote your command, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Your Glove Arm and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

In your motion, your Glove Arm is used for balance.

Depending on your balance within your Starting Position, you either command the ball with uncanny regularity or use your Throwing Arm to command the ball within a much larger target area.

Out of Balance

You’re out of balance when an overactive Front Knee finishes behind your Front Hip and places all your weight over your Back Foot.

Heading to your release, your Glove Arm wants to keep your Body in balance and, as such, is not involved with your release.

You naturally land your Stride, your Glove Side Shoulder clears, and you release your pitch.

Your release forces your Throwing Hand to miss your target over the plate with indisputable consequences.

In Balance

Being in balance finds your “center of gravity” directly over your Back Foot Instep.

Your good Stride begins with your Glove Arm moving toward your target and ends with your Glove Arm Palm naturally turning upward.

With your Body in balance, your Glove Arm has freed itself to guide your Throwing Hand into release.

Better Command

Your Throwing Action regularly places the ball in your target with uncanny regularity.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you a Glove Arm movement to promote your command, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Stride AND Throw, Glove Work, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

The Front Foot Starting Position

The Front Foot Starting Position places your weight on or in front of your Back Foot.

Ideally, for you to regularly find your target, you want your Front Foot to begin even with your Back Foot.

Any other position means you don’t know where the ball will end up.

The Front Foot Behind Your Hips

Your Front Foot beginning behind your Front Hip puts your weight on your Back Foot.

Your weight on your Back Foot forces your Stride to take the weight off your Back Foot.

You land your stride, THEN you fire the ball.

The chance your ball hits your target is greatly decreased.

The Front Foot Even With Your Hips

With your Front Foot in front of your Front Hip, you balance your weight slightly in front of your Back Foot.

Not only is your weight in balance, but your Glove Hand swings into action.

Your Glove Hand fires your Lower Body, your Lower Body activates your Hips, AND you throw the ball.

Your ball goes into your target with uncanny regularity.

Better Stride AND Throw Action

Your Stride AND Throw regularly places the ball in your target with uncanny regularity.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you a Stride AND Throw routine to promote your command, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Head Position, Glove Work, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Your Head Reacts to Your Weight Distribution

When your Back Knee is ahead of or over your Back Foot, your weight distribution tilts your Body.

However, your Back Knee being to the second base side of your Back Foot keeps your weight distribution in place and your Body from tilting.

Your Head Tilt

A tilt in your Body means, before you can finish your motion, your Body needs to get back in balance.

A change in your Head position as you lift your Front Leg causes you to also lose your Glove Work, and your Lower Body.

Your Lower Body needs to catch up and, in the meantime, you deliver the ball with just your Throwing Hand.

Your Proper Back Knee Position

With your Back Knee to the second base side of your Back Foot, your weight distribution remains the same, and your Glove Hand is ready to move.

You keep your Glove Hand in a position to fire your Lower Body.

Your Lower Body pulls your Throwing Hand into release and the ball hits your target with uncanny regularity.

Better Back Knee Action

Your Back Knee being to the second base side of your Back Foot promotes exceptional command.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches you a Back Knee position to promote your command, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

One Motion, Glove Work, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Your Stride Doesn’t Precede Your Glove Hand

When your Stride precedes your Throwing Action, your Throwing Hand works alone and places the ball within your target area.

The fact your Throwing Hand acts by itself means your ball ends up in an area that’s far wider than your target.

You set your Stride, and your Glove Hand merely reacts to your Throwing Arm action and does little to command the baseball.

You can only hope the ball goes into your target, but your hopes are slim.

Your Glove Hand Precedes Your Stride

However, when your Throwing Action reacts to your Stride, your Glove Hand prompts your Throwing Action.

At the time your Glove Hand naturally turns over, your Throwing Hand reacts to your Glove Side, and delivers the ball to your target with uncanny regularity.

Every other pitch finds your ball going directly to your target.

The Importance of the Glove Hand

Without your Glove Hand movement, your ball is within your target area.

Your Glove Hand positions your Throwing Hand and brings your release through your natural release point.

Always remember, your Glove Hand involvement produces your command.

Better Glove Hand Action

Your Glove Hand promotes your Throwing Action and gives you exceptional command.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches your Glove Hand to promote your Throwing Action, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.

Hips, Glove Work, and Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Uneven Hips arise from your Front and Back Heels starting too far apart.

When your Front Heel is more than one baseball width from your Back Heel, your Hips end up uneven.

With your Heels too far apart, when you lift your Front Leg, your Front Leg naturally goes behind your Front Hip and tilts your Hips.

Uneven Hips

You can only throw the ball when your Hips are level.

Your Hips being uneven prompts your Body to make a natural balance adjustment.

Your natural balance adjustment makes your Hips level.

With your Hips level, your Body goes into a throwing motion, and you deliver the ball within your target area.

Even Hips

When your Front and Back Heels are one baseball width from each other, your Front Leg naturally goes up to your Hips and your Hips end up level.

With your Hips level, there is no balance adjustment and there’s a good chance your Throwing Arm works at the same time as your Stride.

Your throwing action takes the ball to your target with uncanny regularity.

Better Positioning

Your level Hips promote your Throwing Action and give you exceptional command.

The Pro Pitching Institute teaches your Heels to be one baseball width apart and Hips to be level, or your instruction is free … No questions… No hassles… and no hard feelings.
