Your Throwing Arm Finds Your Target!

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Your good or bad balance confirms a good or bad throwing Action.

Bad – “Stride THEN Throw”

Your Front Knee going behind your Front Hip makes your Body out of balance, and your Front Leg ready to stride.

During your stride, your stride brings your Back Knee forward.

As you stride, your Back Knee brings your weight ahead of your Back Foot.

Your weight ahead of your Back Foot means your stride Foot lands, your Throwing Arm delivers the ball, and your Glove Arm merely tucks under your armpit.

You “Stride THEN Throw’ and your ball goes into your target by chance.

Good – “Stride AND Throw”

However, when your Front Knee stays in front of your Front Hip, and your Back Leg is flexed, your Body is in balance.

As your Glove Hand extends toward the target, to load your entire Body, your Back Leg bends even more.

Your Glove Hand rolls and points toward the target, your Lower Body rotates toward your target, and your Throwing Hand begins its journey to the plate.

You “Stride AND Throw”, your motion becomes one, and your ball goes to your target with uncanny regularity.

Your Hand Separation Occurs Before Your Stride!

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

After your Starting Position, your Hands and Stride work together for location.

What Not to Do!

Your Hands separating after your Stride means your Lower Body acts as a drag to your Throwing Arm.

Your Lower Body lands before your Throwing Arm initiates its motion.

Besides your Lower Body drag, the typical landing for your Front Foot is a diagonal or closed to your target.

When your Lower Body does land, your Lower Body finds its balance point and your Throwing Arm frees to get the baseball to your target.

Your Throwing Hand movement is governed by the amount of drag, your Body position, and your Throwing Arm movement.

What to Do!

Your Hands separating before your Stride means your Lower Body and Hands work together to get the ball into your target.

Your Lower Body, your Stride, and your Glove Hand engage to make sure your Front Toes point to the target.

Your Front Foot landing with your Front Toes pointing toward the target acts to get your Body to get the ball to your target.

The ball goes to your target with uncanny regularity.

Your Shoulders Need to be In Line with Your Target!

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Your Shoulders are meant to naturally stay in line with your Hips.

What Not to Do?

When you begin your motion, your Front Foot being out of line with your Front Foot, or your Front Feet too far apart naturally cause your Front Knee to move behind your Front Hip.

With your Front Knee behind your Front Knee, your Shoulders are automatically out of line with your target.

When you land your Foot Strike, you cause your Shoulders and your Hips to instinctively get back in line.

You clear your Front Shoulder and deliver the ball with just your Upper Body.

During this process, you lose your Lower Body, and your ball goes to your target with uncontrollable location.

What to Do!

Instead, in your Starting Position, you want your Front Knee to stay ahead of your Front Hip.

From your Starting Position, your Shoulders are in line with your target.

When you land your Foot Strike, your Shoulders and your Hips are already in line and prompt your free Glove Hand to fire your Lower Body.

Your Lower Body sends the ball to your target with uncanny regularity.

Your Hips Need to Level!

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

To get into your Starting Position, you lift your Front Leg to begin your motion, and, with that, your Hips move.

Your Uneven Hips

When your Feet are too far apart, a proper proprioceptive reaction makes your Front Leg bring your Front Hip above your Back Hip.

Your unlevel Hips need to be level at release.

As another proprioceptive reaction, your Stride fixes your motion.

As you Stride, Your Front Hip drops, get in line with your Back Hip, and they are ready to fire.

The problem arises when your Hips follow your Throwing Hand and the ball goes into a target area the size of your release window.

Your Even Hips

With your Feet close together, you rotate your Front Thigh and limit your Front Hip to be even with your Back Hip.

Your Body is in balance, your Glove Hand moves ahead of your Front Foot, and your Hips being level build your Lower Body response.

To get the ball to your target, your Glove Hand initiates your Lower Body, your Lower Body pulls your Throwing Hand into your target, and the ball goes to your target with uncanny regularity.
