Video Analysis Slows Fastball Command Development

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

Pitchers, you need to know a competent pitching coach is a man of science.

He understands action/reaction cycles.

He understands when you can control your actions and when your body is getting itself back in balance.

Science Makes Your Fastball Command Development Instantaneous.

Armed with this knowledge, a competent Pitching coach does not need video analysis to understand what he needs to teach to permanently and instantly improve your fastball command.

Without video analysis…

– He understands how to get your lower body to drive your results,
– He instantly recognizes why your fastball strays from your target, and
– On your very next pitch, he produces the results you know you need to excel on the mound.

Stop Wasting Your Time.

Beware, Pitching Coaches who rely on video analysis are not men of science and may be wasting your already too short pitching career asking you to change things that are out of your control.

Want to instantly improve your fastball command? I’m waiting for your call.

A Reactive Throwing Arm Produces Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

When you grab the handle of a bullwhip then snap your wrist, you create a chain reaction that ends with a sonic boom.

Command Happens with an Open Lower Body.

Like the bullwhip, when you end of your stride with your lower body already opening to your target, you begin a full-body chain reaction where your lower body whips your throwing arm through the same productive release window on every pitch.

It’s this natural throwing arm action that’ll maximize your velocity and produce the fastball command needed to keep the very best hitters from reaching base.

Command Struggles Occur with a Closed Lower Body.

When you begin your lower body rotation after you end your stride, you’ve created an upper-body only chain reaction and can’t know with any certainty where any single pitch will end up.

Want the command needed to challenge the very best Hitter to reach base, then manage your movements into your foot plant and, without any additional effort, watch many more of your pitches end up where you want.

Need help rotating into the end of your stride? I’m waiting for your call.

Productive Tension Builds Fastball Command.

Por Pitching Institute

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

When you stretch a rubber, then let go of an end, the rubber band snaps back to normal the same way every time.

Constructive Pitching Tension

When you duplicate the same constructive tension within your pitching motion you can get your Throwing Arm to snap back to natural, and regularly send your pitches directly into your target.

You create this situation by coming out of your Front Leg lift with your respective Palms pointing to Second and Home.

Current Actions Become Natural Reactions.

Once you release this tension, just like the rubber band, your Body snaps your Throwing Arm into release.

You effectively flow through your motion, spot your fastballs, and challenge the very best Hitters to reach base.

Fixing Your Front Leg Lift.

If you’re searching for fastball command, use your Hand positions out of your Front Leg lift to prepare your Body to produce the productive tension required to spot your fastballs and enhance your pitching brand.

How The Pros Analyze Video!

How The Pros Analyze Video!

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

You may not realize it, but your body is either in balance or it’s getting itself back in balance.

Think about this … During your everyday life, when you make the same movement out of the same balanced position, your body always reacts in the same balanced way.

Focus on Your Action/Reaction Sequences.

This begs the question, “when you analyze a video, do you think about action/reaction sequences, or do you just jump right in and try to force your movements to look the like the ones you see in the video?”

My recommendation is, instead of getting distracted with the way someone else moves, focus on the way you react to your movements!

Your Most Critical Action/Reaction Sequence.

Here’s an underappreciated fact… Your Front Leg Lift is a reaction to your Foot Placements.

Here’s how you use this … Make an ultra-slow-motion delivery, and, if your motion stops at your foot plant, you have an issue with your front leg lift.

Command is Within Reach.

Find a way to adjust your foot placement to better balance your front leg lift, and you’re much more likely to naturally and repeatedly send your pitches where you want.

Need help doing this? I’m waiting for your call.

The Truth Behind Command

Pro Pitching Institute is one of the top 100 baseball blogs on the Internet.

What do your arm actions tell you?

You may not realize it, but it’s impossible to let your body collapse in a heap on the floor.

The instant your Head signals your body that there’s an imbalance, you instinctively use your arms to keep from falling over.

However, when your Head remains centered over your neck and shoulder, your arms remain free to move the way they want.

Searching for command?

If you’re searching for better command, you’re allowing your head to tilt and, in response to your head tilt, you’re using your throwing arm for balance, letting your body control your throwing arm path, and can only hope your pitches end up where you want.

One Head Movement Produces Command.

On the other hand, end your stride with your Eyes level and your Head centered, by plan, your foot plant will move your Head from center.

Once your foot plant is the only thing that creates an imbalance, instead of using your throwing arm for balance, your throwing action will bring your body back to balance.

Automatically Send Your Pitcher Where You Want.

As a result, without thinking about anything else, you’ll see many more of your pitches end up where you expect.

Need help staying balanced into your foot plant? I’m waiting for your call.
